This right here is another attempt to do the whole record reviewing thing, but hopefully I won’t be “reviewing” too much. I have an unfortunate tendency to set aside all records, good or bad, that I write about. It’s difficult for me to re-imagine things that I’ve put into words… I believe strongly in what I write. For instance, I codified my initial dissatisfaction with the first two Strokes records (on the old, old “Bighead Record Reviews” site) and refused to listen to them for years, until my freshman year of college showed me what a profound moron I had been. My opinions on everything change; I’d be a terrible politician, as a born flip-flopper. So, again, this time more clearly, the posts on this blog will not be reviews, per se, but just observations: snippets, fragments, hopefully dust in the wind, in the words of the shittiest band of all time, Kansas. (I do not plan to modify that judgment ever, in case you were wondering.) I’ve got no desire to lock down my view on most things, especially music. Thus, you’ll see no numbers or grades on this page. I will, however, include a page called "The Hall of Fame," which will highlight albums that I've written about which I consider to be great.
